Are any of these people willing to be a part of small growing church or are they the ones who want a big office, a fat salary, health insurance, and a retirement package?

If the church can't adequately pay a person for their services that are not large enough yet for that particular ministry.
I remember the first church my ex and I assisted in out of Bible College. We worked 24/7 both of us for $100.00 per week while his parents paid our car payment and insurance. When we resigned after a year of hard labor they offered us triple the salary... Too late.
I will have to add...that since the tithes are set up to pay the ministry why it is that training ministry workers are expected to work free? Just curious as to what folks think about this?
Why pay the Bible College all that money for training to be asked to work in a church for free?
Our music "director" became a paid position. I know it is not a large salary, but is more than nothing. Immediatly this person removed people that had been put in place by the pastor, took over the sound, take over the projection system and alot of other things. I have actually seen this person tell the pastor NO about somethings in front of the choirs and other musicians.
I have mixed feelings about this. YES I think they should be appreciated, but also think they should be accountable.

I do not agree with this. Any church of any size is ready for music ministry, whether they can pay for it or not. Doesn't mean they'll get it, but to say that the fine folks, few tho they be, don't deserve good music because they can't pay for it is wrong, in my opinion.

I agree.Whatever happened to the word sacrifice and labor of love.
FWIW, I wouldn't send a kid to learn to be a music director at a bible school, unless they understood that it would probably only be a part-time job!
The churches are now saturated with music majors, so more than likely, they'll have to find a regular job and do the music part-time.
Don't get me wrong, there is still a need, but kids should be told the reality of being involved in music ministry!
Exactly...most of the time it is free...for this reason you should go to secular college and get a real job! The Bible says that if one doesn't support one's family then they are worse than a theif or an infidel...so to turn down a good paying job to lead singing is ridiculous!
