Bernie Gillispie
Anybody heard anything about him? I used to read alot of his writings on inchristalone.org. He hasn't updated anything there in quite some time.
I misspelled his last name. Should be Gillespie.

Re: Bernie Gillispie
Read his website a few years ago. Former UPC, read Romans and found out about faith and justification, lead his church out of UPC. Focus on "faith alone" for salvation, in the work of Christ at the cross. Of course, if you read his website you know this.

Re: Bernie Gillispie
A few years ago I ordered some of his material. Although I am a one stepper I was not terribly impressed with his study on the matter. I will have to see if I can find it and read it again.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Hmmm, I always thought he hit the nail on the head. This articles are in depth and get to the heart of a lot of the UPC doctrinal issues. Maybe I am just easily impressed.
