What Next For Texas After Ike?

In seeing pics of some of the coastal towns of Texas one asks this question,
"What next?"

I am thinking of towns like Gilcrist (sp?) & Galveston which were pretty well wiped off the map.

Will they rebuild? Relocate?
Is a plan in place?

It is very heartbreaking to see pics of people wondering through the remains (sometimes it is a vacant lot) of thier homes.

What next for these towns & people?

Governor Perry said we will rebuild!

It is much worse than many people can imagine, but I doubt it gets the same press as Katrina did, although except for life, since most Texans were smart enough to get out, we have dollar wise as much if not more damage. Mostly, because we have a larger area, and many businesses were lost as well as homes.

There are some seaside communities that I think should not be rebuilt since they do not have a seawall or levies

Man I hope Tina stays out to sea ,all the way up here in IN .We got hit by Ike as well I just got power back today . I only suffered small amounts of damage compared to TX but I still don't wanna see this anymore . I kinda enjoyed not having electric and phone service , it was a nice change . However it's gonna get warm this week so it is good it's back up many many trees where downed thru this area . Bottom line God is good and doing the work myself I will not be out that much cash.
