Witnessing With Wisdom

Here is a video of magician Penn (Penn and Teller) talking about a Christian approaching him after a performance. Penn is a known atheist, but who do you think he will call if he ever needs help from God?

Re: Witnessing With Wisdom

That made me all teary-eyed. What a thought......that if you REALLy believe in heaven and hell, you ought to be out there trying to reach all the people like him! Amazing coming from the mouth of an atheist. Very convicting!

It's hard to believe there are Americans who wouldn't even know what was in the New Testament....that he thought Psalms was in there. But I'm sure that's more common than I think, living in the south.

Some 'New Testement Bibles' also include the Psalms.

Yes and I'm sure this Gideon one did. But he said, "Psalms is in the New Testament, right?" He really didn't know.

Sister, in our Bible studies here in Fort Lauderdale we find the regular Joe on the street. Some who couldn't find the book of Genesis.

Now I was being sarcastic by saying that but it's the truth that not many people know what's in the pages of the book. We have a lot of work to do right here in America.
Especially in the cities of America, we need to pound the pavement and try our hardest to be available to answer questions. Now when I'm in Barnes and Noble or in front of Whole Foods Market, I cannot not proselytize, because if I do I would be removed. The first two years they watched me like a hawk. I have already out lived three different store managers at Barnes and Noble.

I have had four times that managers talked to me about my purpose their and told me to make sure I DON'T proselytize. I had some individuals who were ex-Pentecostals recently try to cause a problem during a Bible study, but I very firmly corrected the situation and finished the Bible study without a hassle.
We are now going into our third year and hoping to see a great harvest, I feel we have proven ourselves to those who have been watching us and using a magnifier to do it.

We must always be consistent in front of everyone who lives around us, we can't miss a beat. Because there are those who are just waiting to say "I thought as much, you Christians are all alike, a bunch of phoney losers."

2009 to 2010 may be some good years for the apostolics.

It made me teary eyed too!!!

I was surprised the first time I read the Bible. I constantly found myself saying "so, that's where that phrase came from!"

Re: Witnessing With Wisdom

Meeting Jesus face to face makes us changed people.

Meeting people face to face changes what we make Jesus.

It is the filter that the knowledge of Christ has to flow through that messes up the power of the message.

When there is too much ME in what they see I am ineffective.

When the ME is no longer present then they meets something face to face that will break them inside... and in a very good way.

This staunch, unapologetic, unrelenting atheist found himself a little humbled when finally met the Spirit of our Christ face to face.

Penn, admittedly, is not a big fan of many christians. Somehow I think Penn would like Jesus Christ. But the Christ is hidden behind the personality flaws of Christians.

Penn is all God needs to change our world... he is an honest person.
