I have a new appreciation for my wife!
My wife wasn't feeling well, so I dropped her off at our house so she could rest while I and my 18-month-old daughter went to get some pizza at the local buffet.
After holding my daughter while trying to get MY pizza....
Then trying to feed her at the same time with NO help....
Then filling a to go container for my wife while holding my daughter with 30000 people in line tapping their feet...
Loading my daughter in the car while holding everything else...
AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love my wife and I hope she never leaves me!
(but she was grateful for the pizza and said "now you know why I don't go out to eat during the day!" LOL)
P.S. This post was not made to get pity, but to pay homage to all you mothers and special honor to ALL single parents who NEVER get a break!!!

So true!
I rarely went out alone with the kids when they were young but when I did, it was nerve wracking at times.

Very sweet! Moms just get used to juggling many things at one time. I guess we have a built in mechanism that gives us the ability to cope and to multi-task.
We can be in an upstairs bedroom busy - cleaning or whatever - and hear what's going on with a 3 yr. old in the living room, while the husband/daddy sits in a recliner in the same room reading a paper totally oblivious to what the child is up to. Amazing!

Such as yourself, eh? Haha! Maybe so. I can only go by personal experience and what I've observed over the years.

Re: I have a new appreciation for my wife!
seggie, let me give you a hint. The clue to pulling something like this off successfully - a STROLLER I never leave home without one for the baby I do daycare for. She's 16 months old. It lets her feel like she's independent while in reality, I still have firm control AND I have two hands free if I have to use them, as well as the use of the handles of the stroller to hang things from, the bottom of the stroller to stow things into, etc., etc.

Feli, your Avatar looks like a screenshot from "The Villiage".

Village-esque? Maybe. But no, not from "The Village". Interesting movie though.

There are some things that only Moms can do and do well at.
Us men can't replace the womenfolk.
