Hungry for Him

I check in to see the posts, and notice so much debate. You wonder, how will we find Him in the midst of so much rhetoric.

Please God, show yourself to us!! Show us your love! Take us beyond the quagmire of a million opinions!

Sometimes it seems, God is before us all, His head low because we can't rise above our "Know It All" attitudes and prisoned theory!

Friends, I'm hungry! I want to know Him! I want Him to be alive in my soul! My heart aches for His voice! I want to sing a new song!

I come before Him broken today. Fill my cup, Lord. I open my heart to you, Lord. Please, come and dine with me. Please my Father from above, I need your arms around me! My heart is open. Fill it with all that You are!

Re: Hungry for Him

Thank you all for hearing my plea. It truly comes from within. After yesterdays church service, I was stricken with desire to go deeper. I don't want to get "stuck" or "stale".

God is a marvelous Being, creating man for His purpose. Let's dive in!!

Consider this:

One can love the Lord our God while at the same time loving the truth of his word! Yeshua said those who love him will KEEP HIS WORD.

Truth will not take you away from loving him. It will see to it that the him you love is the real him.

The Apostle John tells us that walking in truth brings great joy!

3: For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
4: I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
3 John 3-4

Define Truth, and you will get a million interpretations, a million opinions, and millions of confused people.

Freind, I'm on the sea, the winds raging, the waves crashing, and people are panicing. Don't you think it's time to wake the Master before the ship sinks?

Oh, what manner of man is this!! I want to know Him more than I ever have because He can do things I can't!

The Scribes and Pharasees were obedient, but lost at sea.

Jesus said, I am the way, the Truth, and the life. I'm admitting after 30 years of walking in the Apostolic way, too many of us don't know Him, including me. Our downfall is a simple one; We've tried to Copyright faith in the name of Truth, which always leads to the prison of judging anyone who thinks differently.

We have misused the word "Truth" to justify our arrogance, while drifting away from God's love and mercy to a lost world.

When I don't have answers, He understands. That's why I'm trying to wake Him!

I share your sentiments, Brother/Sister. Maybe all the rhetoric symbolizes some that have given up on knowing Jesus like Paul said ( "That I might know Him...."), and have settled on just knowing ABOUT Him. Oh, I want to know about Him, sure, but, I want to know HIM.

Coming to AFF sometimes reminds me of the words from Psalms, "How shall we sing the Lords' song in a strange land". Sometimes I come here and its like a strange land, filled with strange things. Things unfamiliar to me and, if I might add, strange things that don't belong in a familiar land filled with familiar people. Things like animosity, discord, and DEBATE.

I know... I know...its an open forum where anyone posts anything (to a reasonable degree). Yes it is an open forum, but largely populated by poeple that have a significant commonality- Christian. More specifically Pentecostal. Even more specifically, Apostolic. But, I can't help but think of Achan who buried some unfamiliar thing in his tent and has brought something into the camp that displeases the Lord. And, as a very small and insignificant part of this forum, I try to seach my heart out to rid myself of that which displeases the Lord. I do so by checking my spirit- and my words- BEFORE I post them. I can let some of my mispellings and typos go.... what I can't and try not to let get by is any word or deed that might be anything other than uplifting, encouraging and edifying.

I appreciate your spirit. And may God fill you with all of His best!
