Re: Help w/ Desktop Publishing Software
Well, yeah, I guess a little more info might be helpful. I want something that will work to publish magazines. Something that will allow me to have pictures and write articles. Just an idea am toying with.

OneAccordian, If you are talking about publishing a print magazine I hope you have deep pockets! Or are you talking about an online magazine?

Re: Help w/ Desktop Publishing Software
If it is going to be online sounds like you really need more of a website development toold than a publishing one?
Oh, and you will have to get in line for my money behind my Dentist, Doctors, and everybody else!!!! LOL

You might consider a blog platform like WordPress. They have some magazine styles themes. You can host with them at Wordpress.com or host yourself with software from wordpress.org.

The very best desktop publishing program of all time was Aldus Pagemaker. Aldus was bought out by Adobe and Adobe still releases versions of Pagemaker - I believe. I haven't done that kind of work for some time.
Best of luck on your enterprise!
... just checked Adobe. http://www.adobe.com/products/pagemaker/ The commercial version of Pagemaker 7.0 is $499.00 - ouch! There is a student/education version available for just $79.00. Tell them that you're a "home school student."
