Red face An Ode to Materialism

We all have purchases that are too cool. This is a place to share the virtues of your puchase.

I'll start ...In March I purchase IRoomba.( Sale price plus coupon savings, what can I say?)

We love it! It's the maid we never could afford.
My floors and carpet have never been so clean.
"He" goes under the buffet, under the beds, the lovesesat---in other words the places you don't usually vaccum on a regular basis.

When you empty the dirt cup it's always surprising how much is picked up by this small circle of power.

My only complaint is that the batery life isn't much more than 45 min and "he" doesn't always find his way back to the docking station....I always say he has faulty gps

We still have our Elextrolux upright vac and a Kenmore canister in the basement. But now 3 or 4 times a week the upstairs is cleaned

This is my vote for purchase of the year!

I've often wondered if those things were worth anything.

We have been looking at one for sometime but have mostly tile and hardwood floors so do not know if it would be worth it.

Re: An Ode to Materialism

It cleans our wood floors as well as the carpeting and "he" handles the changes in levels fairly well,

When we upgrade to 1080p, we'll move this one to the game room upstairs. Maybe.

Wink Re: An Ode to Materialism

Alas, I'm assisting the economy once again.
Last month I received a nice bonus at work. ( And yes, I shared; sent a check to Sis A )

My treat for myself was a Nookcolor.

I looked at tablets at the Verizon store last fall and was tempted but my son said no, it wouldn't do what I wanted and I would need a contract to be online.

I thought about an e-reader but had doubts about giving up an actual book as a reading experience.

******Voila******
Nookcolor has both! I can read........and it's pretty cool to have unlimited books at your fingertips.

I can surf the web in fact AFF has been bookmarked.
Of course you can get weather, email, news but who wants "real" info...

Re: An Ode to Materialism

I am considering a new computer. Thinking of going Mac this time... It will be for business too. We have three other PCs and a laptop But I have never owned an Apple product besides iPods and iPhones.

Any thoughts? Is it worth the extra?
