' jesus '
When you breathe
the Name ' Jesus ' it sounds so much more personal than calling him Christ. That's just my opinion.

Reason: Attempt to captalize Jesus, but was unable to.

Re: ' jesus '
I try to say the name Jesus as much as possible in everyday conversation. "God" and "Christ" are not specific enough for me...Some people have trouble saying "Jesus" in public, but they can say "God" or "Christ" no problem. They subconciously are embarrassed of His name.

And that is So Sad too. My Dad always blessed the food and closed using in Christ's Name. When he would ask me to return thanks, I said in Jesus Name, and I noticed before he passed away that he was also closing his prayer in Jesus' Name. There's no other name given among men where by we must be saved. I love the Name

If you were from a large Hispanic family you wouldn't have trouble saying or hearing it enough!

They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

I find that so many who call themselves Apostolic are embarrassed to say Holy Ghost and say Holy Spirit instead.

I don't think there is a difference. The Bible uses both phrases too. Using one more than the other doesn't make Him stronger or weaker, does it?

Not embarrassed. Just educated. It is pretty amazing how quickly some folks jump to conclusions about why people do things. Embarrassment has never crossed my mind. Spirit is in my mind a better descriptive word than Ghost in modern english.
I could turn the tables and ask why so many conservative Apostolics seem stuck on using old english verbage from the middle ages.

What makes you believe it's because of embarrassment?

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
