Reaping in fields that you haven't sown in
Does everyone here believe that even if a person sows in a field that they normally wouldn't reap in, that God could send harvest from other fields that you haven't sown in?
For example, if I witness to a person that I never see again in my life while in an airport across the country, that God could send someone to my church that none of the people from my church may have witnessed to.
Basically, the principle says that if you keep sowing seed you will reap, but perhaps not from the fields that you have personally sown in.
Do all Pentecostal churches teach this?
Just curious.

I don't think I am understanding you...but I not sure about the priniciple...What's the principle based out of?

Galatians 6:7 states "for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." This is one of the most steadfast life principles woven throughout the Word of God.
If we use the parable of the talents in Matthew 25, we find that the master reaps where he has not sown. Using this logic, one could assume that all who sow can expect to reap - even where one has not planted: however, the slothful man, who does not sow, should not expect to reap in another's field.
Leviticus 23 and the Book of Ruth bear out the history of gleaning in another's field.

This principle is competely understood and taught.....
What Lost stated may have been somewhat along the lines of it.. or maybe worded wrong... not sure...
I am not sure of the motivation behind what he is saying... maybe he can explain..

RevR, you don't get out much, do you?
JohnMark, very good scriptural references and insight.

Worded correctly; I hope so. Even I have literary limitations at times.
Motivation: just winning the lost. Nothing more, nothing less.
JohnMark was effective at scripturally describing the "reaping in other fields" principle.

Still waking up...
and I would think a person would share and plant seeds wherever they may be...
I agree that increase can come from many different fields...

It seems to me that if a church did not sincerely believe that they will "reap from other fields" that they would be reluctant to support foreign missions. Or invest in home missions around the country, for that matter.
As their "sowing in other fields" would not benefit reaping in their "own field" (own city).
I am off target? On target?
Any thoughts?

Interesting thought... it leans towards motivation.... If a church believed that the only reason they going to invest in another Field was for their own benefit.. I do NOT believe God would bless that church... because their motivation is not right...imo...
One Sows... One Reaps... and God gives the increase....
