Saving Me...

Saving Me

I tossed and turned the night away
Trying to feel the comfort as I lay
But something pressed against me
Causing me great grief
For try as I might I could not sleep
Tossing and turning to the point of despair
I awoke to find a grain of sand lying there
It was amazing to me as large as I am
That a single grain of sand could move such a man
But that’s what problems do when we don’t move
A question of the mind, “what do we do?”
It’s amazing to think had I cleaned my bed
My head would be nestled in my pillowed nest
So let this be a lesson to me and you
Take care of the little problems before they take care of you.

Good thought. Kind of like the princess and the pea.

Nice and so true. Came across this quote a little earlier........

"Worry does not empty tomorrow of its struggles; it empties today of its strength."

That is one of my personal favorites. I have given up on worry. It serves no useful purpose, (except in very few, rare circumstances). I am fighting a battle right now, trying to teach my daughter this lesson. She is a worrier of monumental proportions. She wastes so much time worrying, and makes herself half sick over things that she cannot control. I am trying to get this concept through to her, it is a real struggle.

Is worry sin?

I think so because it can bind...destroy and bring sickness...

It definitely can become sin, I hesitate to just say "yes it is sin", I think we are far to slap-happy with that term, and cause people added stress, but worry can become a spirit that hangs over people and infects their lives. And that is not of God. "He has not given us the spirit of fear" IMO, that is what worry becomes.

I think this scripture speaks to and rebukes worry.........

2Cr 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Amen!! A family friend was having open heart surgery a couple of weeks ago, and his wife told me she was worried.

I said, "So, you aren't praying then?!"

She smiled as she realized the truth that we can't worry and pray..."worry empties today of its strength!!"

Love it!!
