Lightbulb What Happened to Watchnight Service?

I am so disappointed. I have called many churches in the Dallas area and nobody is having footwashing and communion for New Year's Eve. I so wanted to be in church to pray out the old year and in the new. *sigh*

P.S. Sorry the "a" was left out of happened...my fingernails are too long

Our church doesn't have the watchnight services, but one in our area does and everyone that wants to attend goes there.

P. S. I fixed the title for you. I hope you don't mind.

We're having one but it's relaxed informal get-together and before midnight we'll gather in the sanctuary and pray in the New Year.

What's the purpose of Watchnight Service anyway? We stopped having the midnight ones now for years. Pastor does not want his saints on the road with all the other drunk and crazy people after midnight.

Been several years since we've had one. The last ones we had ended before midnight and most of us went to eat together or had deserts at the church.

most of us gather with friends from church and have home parties, play games and maybe show slides or old movies of vacations we have shared to gether.

We do have a yearly "State of the Church" address early in Jan. on a Sunday night.
