You Tube Parental Warning....

There is a major problem with some curse words in YouTube comments. To work around this, we have embedded YouTube Video available. This I hope will explain how. This works with two browsers or two tabs open at once so you can switch back and forth.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uONg5voLxo

How to tie your shoelace fast

Click on the ADVANCED button if you are in the basic reply settings.

Press YouTube button and in the popup box place what text you are wanting to use.

This will then bring you to the following pasted in your reply. It will look like what is below.....

PHP Code:
[YT="How to tie your shoelace fast"][/YT
Back to the youtube link and then look for v= Remove up to this portion and insert in the code that was pasted. ( 1uONg5voLxo )

PHP Code:
[YT="How to tie your shoelace fast"]1uONg5voLxo[/YT
Click reply and it should be a box with a link at the top to the YouTube site- and the video available for those like myself who dislike the comments and other videos offered on the right side.

You Tube Parental Warning....

Maybe everyone already knows this but I just found out during the last You Tube Contest what a sleazy unregulated place You Tube is.

Michael's video ended up on the most viewed in one day or week section a couple of times. What a shock to find the other kinds of videos on those pages.

I am disturbed on several levels.

1. There is no protection for kids or teenagers (that I know of).

2. The history of videos viewed is easily wiped out with a click.

3. The kinds of videos beyond the hard core porn that are most viewed is also disturbing.

It seems to me that the fall out for society that will occur in the next couple of decades is going to be brutal. I don't know how kids can view this stuff and be ok. I don't know how kids won't get sucked in.

I wonder how many marriages will be hurt? How many more sexual predators registered? How many false accuasations in court? How many will view same sex relationships as an alternate choice or a right of passage?

What are you doing to keep your kids safe? Keeping the internet out of the bedrooms doesn't protect them when no one is home.

Perhaps I am too much an alarmist?

But while there is all of that, there is some apostolics in the mix who do put up decent and ministerial videos. our church has an account there that seems to have made some dents, no matter how small.

Well, there is one of the dilemas. Until recently; that is how I understood You Tube. I thought it was open to everyone to put up their videos; a market place of ideas, fun and creativity.

BUT when XXX videos can be mixed in and Lesbian/Gay kissing doesn't even get a warning that it isn't suitable for kids; then our kids are running around over land mines in their midst.

I have seen some horrible things in court DIRECTLY attributed to the internet. I just didn't realize that the porn on the internet was served up so casually on You Tube right along family-friendly fare.

Yes, we must really look out for those who use our computer. There are some good videos on YouTube but we regulate what others watch on our computer so that they don't get into the really bad stuff.

It's not only You-Tube that has a problem with regulating videos. File-sharing sites like LimeWire and BearShare also have videos that are freely shared among users that would make your daddy turn red.

I don't allow my kids to view videos of any kind without my direct supervision. But it's definitely a problem.

Newman, I agree with everything here exccept the bolded part.

The fall out won't happen in the future-it has al ready started!

Starts to sing,"I am longing to go with the Lord to my home, I'm getting so tired of living down here below!"
