Messed Up Immigration Practice
This is what bothers me the most...MOST of the illegals are from Mexico and there is a lot of political action by Mexico and Latino activists here....this all gives mexicans an unfair advantage...not Latinos but mostly Mexicans.
I have a friend that came here legally from El Salvador. He had to pay a lot of money too and gets no benefits.
But this news item makes the point more. Why does it seem like immigration proponents aren't fighting hard for ALL immigrants? It seems unbalanced

FRESNO, Calif. — The valedictorian at Fresno's Bullard High School won't be attending college in the United States this fall because he's scheduled to be deported.
Arthur Mkoyan's 4.0 grade-point average qualified him to enter one of the state's top universities. But the 17-year-old and his mother have been ordered back to Armenia after their last appeal for asylum failed.
The family fled from what used to be part of the Soviet Union and has been seeking asylum since 1992.
-------------------------------------
That's messed up. A lot of Illegals from Mexico come here and their kids get a great education, score high grades and go on to college.

Re: Messed Up Immigration Practice
That is because there is a bias among the legislators towards Mexican illegals. They have been led to believe by lobbyists and down right liars that this country would fall apart if the illegals were deported. What a lie!
It is racial discrimination. These people came legally, and under proper reasoning. They are not illegals. Close the borders and put our military on the border, just like Mexico does to protect the drug runners. Then, if they persist to come over, arrest, and if they resist, then the next step is to consider it an invasion and declare war.
Harsh yes, but one group should not get special privileges.

Re: Messed Up Immigration Practice
We are going through something similar at our church. One of our ministers has been here 4 years. Gone through all the right channels, yes, paid a LOT of money and recently was refused renewal of his DRIVERS LICENSE because it is tied directly to his residency. We have tried unsuccessfully, to get them to expedite his papers so they can get their licenses back, but, the answer was "No, we will NOT do that".
This is what kills me. His 17 year old daughter got her license in KENTUCKY last year, but, because her residency is directly tied to her parents her license was confiscated as well!
Sunday, I ate at a restaurant (local) and was served by ALL illegal aliens. The restaurant has been in operation for at least 8 years. What is WRONG with this picture?

Well it might be true, but that is only because Mexicans make up the majority of those that come here illegally. My point has been that this is unfair to other peoples, even Latinos that are NOT Mexicans...
Personally though I would like to see less Mexicans and Salvadorians....the latter mostly because of the gang trouble

Re: Messed Up Immigration Practice
Not enough Armenian "votes" out there, so no one cares. But there are millions of Mexicans.
