McCain takes 5-point lead

In a sharp turnaround, Republican John McCain has opened a 5-point lead on Democrat Barack Obama in the U.S. presidential race and is seen as a stronger manager of the economy, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.

Guess we won't see Obama in a hurry to face off with McCain again.

But we know, Baron, that in the game of politics, this could change very quickly, right?

This is good news. I suspect Russia raising it's ugly head a bit, has some people reconsidering.

I think that along with the almost universal opinion that Obama did poorly at the Saddleback event caused a pretty large swing in the polls. This is a 12 point swing in a month, that is huge.

I think so too, Stephen. My hubby and I were talking about that when McCain and Obama made speeches about it. McCain had the "commander in chief" image going for him that night.

Re: McCain takes 5-point lead

The color issue is why some are voting for Obama...that issue means nothing to me...white or black or green...I just want one that would keep America safe as possible and I do not think Obama would.
I am not into politics as you folks know...so my kids always tell the people here that are looking for votes, "if it is about politics do not go talk to mother she will tell you the whole history of the first church."

While I personally have my feelings about these things they are ONLY my feelings and not a doctrine preached at our church.

Yeah, but we both know how polls go.

Re: McCain takes 5-point lead

Obama's trip to Europe didnt help either.
They thought it would help him in the polls. His numbers actually went down afterward!
