Still Looking for a Christmas Tree!

I have looked everywhere in the area for the kind of tree that I want at an affordable price. I have never bought a tree before, as the first two years we were married, we chopped one down. Then an older saint in Memphis gave us an old used one that we had for years. Then I won one (cheap one) at a party that we had for a long time. I finally bought a used pre-lit one from my MIL a few years back for $75, and now some of the lights have gone out and it's really too big. I had no idea that new pre-lit trees were so expensive!! I'm such a cheapskate.

I want a 9 ft. slim/pencil tree. The cheapest one I've found that looks decent is at KMart and I guess I'll go back and get it, even though it's on sale for $250. That just sounds like a lot of money, but I guess after 30 years of marriage, it's not too bad of an investment.

I have looked at Trees N Trends, Home Depot, Garden Ridge, Target, KMart, Walmart, Penneys, Sears, and Macy's. I've seen WAY too many trees for one year. I even saw an all black one, that I loved, but I'm afraid after a couple of years, I would be saying, "What in the world was I thinking????"

Re: Still Looking for a Christmas Tree!

You should have bought one last year after Christmas - you'd be looking at it all decorated now!

Just go back and get the one at K-Mart. A live tree costs $100, so at least in two and a half years you'll be ahead.

That's the cheap end - - so now, you probably feel better about the K-Mart tree, huh?

They have them at Lowes and Hobby Lobby. HL has them for 30% off regular prices.

Re: Still Looking for a Christmas Tree!

Macy's was selling their $299 dollar tree for $99-

By the time Keith got there, they were all GONE!

I love the thin line ones, I had one for one year and someone very close to me sold it in a garage sale.

The things you regret!

Ahhh, I see.

On another note, I lost out to my wife.
We have a small (two -two & a half foot) tree, & this year I said to my wife that maybe we should get a live tree!

You would of thought I told her we should have another baby!!!!

"Not on her Dead Body!!!!"

I said, "we are not getting a tree from the Cemetery & you ain't dead!"

Women do not like exaggerations to make a point I found out.

Turns out she doesn't want the mess a live tree will bring.

"Get some fir boughs instead to decorate the fireplace mantle," she says!

My wife should be a Nuclear arms negotiator because I accepted her offer!
