Re: Sarah Palin Keynote Speaker Tea Party Conventi
I'm glad that she wasn't addressing this meeting as a third party option but a movement of the people.
Being that it was very limited on policy ideas, it doesn't indicate that she has any serious plans to run for the White House.
"You've got both party machines running scared," she said.

Re: Sarah Palin Keynote Speaker Tea Party Conventi
I watched it. Thought it was great! A poll or phone line for all 4 partys was interesting and scary. A 4th party? My first thought was, if we have any more splitting up of the Republican party, we will not win the next election. ( A caller (democrate) did say this!) Not enough votes. However, as Sarah put it, the Republican party has got to come on board, Independents and Democrates too. (something like that)...I agree. United we are stronger and have more voting power. Since ACORN is still in its buisness to sign up Daffy Duck and Mickey Mouse and good ol (DEAD) wonderdul grampa to vote, we need to band together, relook at the direction we are going in and renew, refresh, restart, heal our relationship with God and our country! Not be afraid of voicing our love and faith in God, not be afraid of the media, but UNITE!
I am a Tea-Party gal. I am a registed Repulican. There is nothing to be scared of in our party pealing back the layers and revamping, remolding and healing itself and taking on the ideals of the Tea Party movement is a positive. I think making a 4th party is not smart. It would be detramental and even more polorizing for this country.

Re: Sarah Palin Keynote Speaker Tea Party Conventi
The big divide is that the grassroots tea partiers are angry about this Convention because they don't want the GOP to take over the movement. They felt like it stepped into their turf.
Sarah is saying that it's a "movement" of the people and scaring both parties. She also says that the Republican Party's planks are what the grassroots tea party ideas represent.
So, I'm thinking that I'm not sure the issue has been settled for the tea partiers.
But, at least, she is saying she is not seeking to be the head. She is also saying that she would not rule out running for President. Simply because she would never encourage someone to put themselves into a box of any kind - stay here or move here. She thinks that you don't know the future and you have to move with it until it unfolds. I think that was honest enough, as I do agree with that.

I am learning...didn't know or didn't get any impression that the grassroot teapartiers were angry about these conventions...why? ....if we divide up AGAIN, we are no better. No, I do not want the GOP or buisness as usual to take over or continue. Things have got to change, and one is our relationship with God and our presentation to the country. They keep saying God and politics don't mix (church and state), but guess what...there is no getting around it. Either we are or we are not, and shouldn't be ashamed of it. And I don't mean right wing loonieism here...not any different than left wing loonieism.
I'm glad she is not seeking to run....sigh....I love her, but no. LOL She is better as a spokesperson at the moment. We have got an uphill climb. All of the slow turning of progressiveness all of these 50+ years has met up with us now. We are paying now for our blindness and laziness.(too much to say here, I keep backspacing what I type! LOL)

Well, you have to get the back talk from people involved, which I follow on Facebook and Twitter. Lots of interesting and informative conversations. Love it! Totally different atmosphere than here at AFF. You feel like you are in a press room - love it! It's a lot to catch up on every day and can get you bogged down.
I agree with you that Sarah does well at speaking engagements. I don't see her as presidential material. If that is supposed to change, it is slow in coming. I'm not saying she is not an intelligent woman. She has her "hockey mom" trademark that she wants to cling to. It just don't go over that well behind a presidential desk.
They have some new e-mails released that show Todd, as First Dude, being more involved in the Governorship in Alaska than what was first supposed. Well, I do find that funny. You know her husband and him being a life-long resident is going to know people and get involved. Anyway, they have a little deal going on about him trying to get around reporting some expense on the wiring of her hot tub. LOL! Still waiting to get something better on that. MSNBC is not the place for factual info. LOL!
I think once the grass roots tea party people find out that the Tea Party Convention is really trying to work with them and not against them, they will come together. I know they are split on supporting John McCain.

Re: Sarah Palin Keynote Speaker Tea Party Conventi
The Tea Party vs Republican war is the best thing for BHO's re-election chances. Were I someone in the admin, I'd be trying to plant people high up in the TP movement to really push it against the GOP, run a conservative 3rd/4th party candidate and split enough votes so BHO wins in 2012.
Brilliant.....no, not really. Imbecilic is more the word for it.

It helps the Republican Party if it is only a "movement". If it tries to be a third party, that is where it helps the Democrats. Thus far, we are not sure what it is going to develop into.
