I believe there are a few scenarios that could play out.
1. Obama could win a close vote
2. Romney could win a close vote
3. The momentum for Romney and enthusiasm for him may not be reflected properly in the polling and that along with undecided independents breaking for Romney in a big way could mean a much bigger Romney win that is commonly thought.
The scary thing is that Romney could win the popular vote by a significant percentage, perhaps 3-5% and still lose the electoral count to Obama and thus the Presidency.
The new uncertainty since last week is how Hurricane Sandy is going to affect the election. Will Obama's couple of days off the campaign trail in the last week hurt him or will appearing Presidential in the crisis center and touring the destruction help him? Will the electricity be back on by next Tuesday for the 8 million people it is currently out for so they can vote (many areas use electronic voting requiring electricity)?
With all of that said my prediction is a Romney win with a 2.7% margin and 309 electoral votes against the 270 needed to win.

I'm not keeping up with any of that. I have "felt" that Obama will win for quite some time now. I really don't care who wins.
