Project 22:39 Community Service Giveback
No longer will we choose not to see it...
No longer will we allow our voices not to be heard...
No longer will we ignore the cry of our generation...
This year... Congress becomes more than an event, it becomes a revolution.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matthew 22:39
Charlotte, North Carolina will host North American Youth Congress this year. Charlotte is a thriving, beautiful, and extremely safe city, however, Charlotte has great needs.Over the three days that we are together, we will be empowered, strengthened, and renewed by the Holy Spirit. We will hear life-changing and anointed services, and bask in the glow of vertical worship experiences. But, it will not end there. We plan on making a huge impact on the city of Charlotte through a mass community service initiative, Project 22:39. While the city will feel the impact of us gathering financially and enjoy the presence that we bring, we want our neighbors to feel the love of Christ in action. This is why we are asking you to help us leave an indelible mark on our friends in Charlotte.
On
Friday, August 10, 2007, from
2:30-5:00 pm (Eastern), in Charlotte, North Carolina, thousands of students attending North American Youth Congress will spend time intentionally "giving back" to the city of Charlotte. "Project 22:39" will feature many activities in which students and their sponsors will live out the commandment given by Jesus in
Matthew 22:39 - "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
To help the General Youth Division and our Project 22:39 coordinators get an accurate idea of how many participants we can expect for each activity, please

Project 22:39 is a multi-faceted giveback to the city of Charlotte. Here’s how we are going to do it:
- We need every attendee to bring one canned food item to Congress.
- We need every attendee to bring one school supply to Congress.
- We need every attendee to be prepared to give a donation toward building fresh water drinking wells in Africa.
We will also engage students in community service activities like:
- Beautifying parks in the downtown Charlotte area.
- Putting together Kids Café Back Packs and Senior Supplemental Meals with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina
