The Emasculating of Men and Masculation of Women

Women are increasingly independent, not a bad thing at all in and of itself.

But with the independence also comes a price.

Women are now more likely than ever to choose to have a child and start a family without a husband.

Married women are now more likely than ever to be the ones having the affair. A phenomena documented by social scientists over the past couple of decades.

While the “polls’ conducted by such venerable institutions as Redbook, and Cosmo would the public believe that half of all Americans are swingers, the less than titillating truth is the majority of men (and women) don’t cheat on their spouses.

Accurate numbers are difficult for many reasons, even things like a male’s tendency to exaggerate their "exploits" and a female’s to minimize theirs.

Nonetheless a trend is a trend. And women in our society are picking up more “male” traits for example:

Violent and sexual behavior among our preteen and teen boys have stabilized but those behaviors among our preteen and teen girls (while still much less than boys) have increased 200-300% over the past decade.

What else can be expected in a society that systematically emasculates the males?

One of the traits of a true man was to protect the virtue of a woman. By trying to curb what the feminists call the male aggression factor they are also suppressing a few of the things that make REAL men worth having around. Like Nobility and Chivalry.

But even on this forum at times there are shades of who needs a man.

(Happy Rhoni? Thread started)

Re: Changing Gender Roles

Carp started a thread a bit like this before in regards of how the atmosphere in the church is even changing because of these changes in society. How women are taking over the church and men are passive.

It's completely against the way God wanted woman to be in my opinion. We were created to me a help meet and nurturer - not the provider.

In a majority of churches it has always been the women that ran things and the men have most often been passive.

Re: Changing Gender Roles

Let me start out by saying that I am in TOTAL agreement with what you've said.

On the flip side tho, what do you do with women like Timothy's grandmother in the Bible? Didn't she work? And how about in the virtuous woman - don't they talk about her working well with her hands, etc.? I suppose I should go and take the time to look these passages up so that I can talk intelligently before I post, but right now I'm just trying to take out enough time to eat my lunch. LOL

I think if you check they worked, but probably not for money. They worked in the fields, spinning thread, whatever women in the day did for their families - just like stay at home moms do now. Do they work? You better betcha they do!
