The Inerrancy Of The Bible.

I'm very old-fashioned when it comes to believing that the Bible is the inerrant, infallible word of God.
Sometimes in life we meet people who challenge us on this belief how do we answer them ?

I use other translations for study and comparsion, but I keep coming back to the KJV,and I'm satisfied we have the utter trustworthy word of God.

What are your thoughts on the inerrancy of God's word ?
How do yall as Christians explain the infallibilty of the sacred scriptures to people who might not understand ?

Hi Scott,
It depends on if they just want to argue or if they are genuinly interested in why I believe what I believe.
If they just want to argue I refer to books written by others that prove the accuracy of the Bible.
If they are genuinly interested than I tell them how God changed me, and try to have Bible studies with them.
I like NKJV.
God doesn't make errors, so there are no errors in His word, hopefully they will become illuminated to His word.

I like the NKJV to me it's the perfect bridge between the beautiful poetic flow of The KJV and modern english,I use the NASB and such too,I don't like them as well as The NKJV, though.

I found out I actually like the RSV too, even though the KJV is my favorite. I was turned on to the RSV in religious courses in college.

I don't believe the Bible is without errors. It never claims to be.

But I do believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.

Oh, and my favorite translation is my own.

If you believe there are errors in the Bible, are the errors a result of God or man?

Re: The Inerrancy Of The Bible.

I pretty much stick to the KJV. I'd heard about a lot of watering down and tampering with other later translations.

The Apostolic church I attended years ago always used KJV and taught us such.

Lately I've heard of verses that were possibly added latter or reworded by the catholic church. Kind of news to me......not really suprised though.

Re: The Inerrancy Of The Bible.

I believe that the original manuscripts are inerrant. All translations, including the King James, have their errors.

Right, they are all errors related to copying or transcribing of men.
