Coming Judgement and those that sigh and groan

This verse came to me as I was praying....there has been much said here about coming judgement. I wonder how relevant this verse would be for us

Eze 9:4 And the LORD said to him, "Pass through the city, through Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations that are committed in it."

Eze 9:5 And to the others he said in my hearing, "Pass through the city after him, and strike. Your eye shall not spare, and you shall show no pity.
Eze 9:6 Kill old men outright, young men and maidens, little children and women, but touch no one on whom is the mark. And begin at my
sanctuary." So they began with the elders who were before the house.
Eze 9:7 Then he said to them, "Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain. Go out." So they went out and struck in the city.
Eze 9:8 And while they were striking, and I was left alone, I fell upon my face, and cried, "Ah, Lord GOD! Will you destroy all the remnant of Israel in the outpouring of your wrath on Jerusalem?"
Eze 9:9 Then he said to me, "The guilt of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great. The land is full of blood, and the city full of injustice. For they say, 'The LORD has forsaken the land, and the LORD does not see.'

Just a thought....could it be that while everyone is at war the church is being tempted to do the same when we should really all be on our faces sighing and groaning at the great abominations that beset out nation?

We should.

There are a few who are hidden away in their closets sighing, crying and mourning over the abominaitons that our nation is involved in. God is talking to them. He is giving clear messages to these unknowns of the outcome and a hope that is steadfast and sure.

Everything that can be shaken shall be shaken, including YOUR church and its leadership...shortly.

Received a phone call from a prayer partner this morning that God has been dealing with her on this very thing.

She has been praying, up north.

I think we need to direct our prayers just as much for the abominations of this nation, but for the leadership of our local churches and the global church at large including prayer for the Oneness organizations

No takers I see. Judgment almost always is diverted to apply only to the wicked and not to the righteous, for the Lord will judge his people, not to be confused with us being appointed to wrath. The mark as you know is commonly believed to be the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet being the tahv, which some say was formerly written in the shape of a cross being the consummation and fulfillment of all things in heaven manifested in the earth. As you mentioned, there is a message for the chosen, called, and faithful in sighing (inward pain) and crying (outward manifestation) because of sins and abominations being done. Whosoever hates sin will not abide in it. God will deliver the godly out of temptation and preserve the remnant for his glory. IMO

I posted almost the same thread a month or so ago.

The title of my sermon "The devil stole the mark"

It was on the day of the sixth year the sixth month and the 5th day.

That he was visited.

He went out to slay those starting at the temple.

On the day of the sixth year sixth month and the sixth day.

Thus the man in Revelations wears that mark.

And it will be on the forehead as the mark in Ezekiel.

It is the devil's way of marking his fold.

With the memory of the day the Lord slayed the sinner...

Read the beginning of chapter 8.

It is my opinion that the reason we suffer a dearth of post-Pentecost power and demonstration is because of a dearth of pre-Pentecost sacrifice. We love to shout over the promise of Joel 2 but we dance around the prerequisites of the promise also found in Joel 2.

My dad used to preach and teach often on the fast of the solemn assembly! It created an awareness of the precedent for power... sacrifice in prayer and fasting!
