Air Force Captain needs prayer

Please pray for Captain Aaron Spears. He went to Iraq and was shot down twice, but God miraculously delivered him!

He has just gotten orders to return to Iraq next week. This is a brave soul that serves our country without hesitation.

I thank God that we have men like Capt Spears in the military protecting our country.

He is the nephew of renowned gospel artist Shirley Ceasar. And a dear friend of mine.

Please intercede on his behalf...

Aaron won't be returning until April 2009.

I didn't think that troops who have served over there once and been wounded could return...

I'm just guessing, but is he a Forward Tactical Air Controller who travels by copter? We haven't lost any planes in Iraq since the invasion.

If he's a Forward Air Controller, then he needs mighty prayer. Those guys infiltrate enemy held territory and risk their lives to protect Iraqi civilians and our own forces from "friendly fire." A couple of TAC were captured during the invasion period a few years back and suffered terribly before being killed.

I have a friend, (very close to my mom and dad) who is a blackhawk squadron leader who is in Iraq right now (second tour).

He flies F16 combat planes exclusively...

The devil is after him in a big way.

He was robbed and attacked a few weeks ago. Stabbed in the one kidney he has left. He is undergoing a kidney transplant next week.

AND....

He has an old war wound from when he was kidnapped in Libya during a raid in the eighties. He has a lodged bullet near his spine. He is in pain.

I believe that God has a call on this man's life.

Of course all this means he won't be able to fly again and he is really bummed about that....

Let's keep Aaron lifted up in SERIOUS prayer.
