Yes, I have, Sis.......Before I opened this thread, that was the book that came to mind about which you would be inquiring. It is one of my favorite books. I've read most of Yancey's books. (I have several I've bought but haven't finished reading.)....There are some things in his books I may not agree with but the
What's So Amazing About Grace book is one of his best (if not his best - in my opinion).
How can "the Church" not see how much we need to be loving the lost and not staying within the small walls with the big rules? I was lost. I came into the church with so many chains that when I was set free, I only wanted to love others. Hang around the church over 30 years and learn all the rules and sometimes those feelings of Love and Grace MAY get replaced with judgmentalism and criticism..... I literally cried when I read the part about the woman who'd done so many horrible things and someone invited her to church. Her reaction was "Church? Why would I ever go there? I was already feeling terrible about myself. They'd just make me feel worse." I've seen that happen too many times. One time is too many times.
