Picking wild mushrooms

It's time to pick spring mushrooms, so I'm thinking I may give it a shot this afternoon. Anybody else ever go?

How much do they need to dry out before you smoke them?

I haven't in a long time but have picked them in the states ...I eat mushrooms but my husband loves them.

It's still a little early here in Iowa, yes I have hunted them for years. around here people will kill for them,Ha!. Use to sell them by the pound, like $ 15.00 a pound.

I'd be askeered of eating mushrooms I picked unless I knew how to recognize which ones were tasty and which ones were freaky.
