Reid pulls no punches when talking war, power plants

Posted: 9/15/2007
Reno Gazette-Journal reporter Anjeanette Damon sat down with U.S. Senate Majority leader Harry Reid to speak about the war in Iraq, as well as the issue of coal-fired power plants:

Q: You disagree with the assessment President Bush and Gen. Petraeus put forth this week. How do you think the course should be changed?

A: All you have to do is look at what they said. Nothing has changed since the surge started. Today, now we learn that 1 million Iraqis have been killed since the war started. A million. That's pretty hard to comprehend: 3,800 Americans, 30,000 wounded. More than 2,000 double amputees.

The president, of course boasts about how well things are going.

A MILLION DEATHS???

"Over 54 months, a million deaths mean an average of 18,518 deaths every month, or about 600 a day --every day for the last four and a half years."

Source

How can Harry Reid make these kinds of claims with a straight face? I wouldn't think anyone would be stupid enough to believe that 600 Iraqi's are dying daily. According to his stats, our new strategy should be just wait until they all are dead, then repopulate the country with Americans and make it the 51st state. At 600 dead a day, that shouldn't take too long.

If it's repeated enough times by so-called credible people with an agenda, people will start to believe it!!!!!
