Narrow Road - Sermon By Dan Scott

Last Sunday's sermon at Christ Church Nashville by Dan Scott titled "Narrow Road" was a good one and might bless some folks so I thought I would post the link to the webcast of it here;

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Narraow Road - Sermon By Dan Scott

Here is a link to a youtube video of the Revelation song from the July 27th new Sunday PM service Christ Church Nashville has in the Wallace Chapel.

This was sung as they were preparing to serve communion.

I started listening to this right after you posted it....Lots of singing...They are still singing but it is enjoyable. I am ready for preaching and getting sleepy. May listen to it tomorrow, Lord willing.

I think you can drag the little moving bar thing to the right some and drop it and after a few seconds to catch up the service will move to whatever point you stopped at.

I like the music also but when I want to get right to the sermon I do that back and forth to find the sermon.

OK...The preaching is starting now. The people are standing up clapping. I saw a picture of Dan Scot years ago - not sure this is He...Maybe the preaching has not started. He is SINGING..lol

Dan is known to burst out in song mid sermon and it is not unusual for him to start a sermon off by singing a little.

The good news is that he doesn't preach long! Usually about 45 minutes max.

He just said: "A church whose rear view mirror is bigger than its windshield is in trouble." Good thought!

Re: Narraow Road - Sermon By Dan Scott

This first sermon posted is just now concluding....I listen to ultra con sermons, UPC sermons and now Christ Church and I can say that this one helped me and the music was great.

Taking the Narrow Road is the one that makes all the difference. "Don't miss the moment of your visitation" is what he is telling everyone.

Thanks for posting. I had to miss church so I appreciated this.

I was blessed by it tonight also. I was out of town on business so did not have a chance to be there in person last Sunday.
