Oh I do that sometimes too, but not much.
These are shaped like eggs and I'll ice them.....my daughter is coming home tomorrow!

I made another lemon bread. When I get more strawberries I'm going to try that strawberry bread recipe you posted.
I love quick breads and muffins.

Looks like I need to go back and check out the recipe thread more often. I completely missed the Strawberry Bread. Strawberries are my absolute favorite fruit, so I'm sure I'd love that.
We had Ensemble practice tonight. Just got home. Walt and Justin are still at the school running the sound system and the lighting system for the High School musical. They're having dress rehearsal tonight and will perform Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They're doing "The Music Man". Hopefully they bring me home free tickets. I refuse to pay to see it after I've had to give up my husband and son every night for the last two weeks to this thing. I figure they owe me that much.

Yields: 20 servings
"Fresh strawberries and nuts are doused with loads of cinnamon in this fruity quick bread."
INGREDIENTS:
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 cups white sugar 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
4 eggs
1 1/4 cups vegetable oil
1 cup chopped walnuts
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease 2 9x5 inch loaf pans.
2. Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Make a well in the center. Beat together the eggs and oil and pour them into the well. Stir just enough to moisten the ingredients. Fold in the strawberries and nuts. Pour mixture into prepared pans; fill containers no more than half full.
3. Bake in a preheated oven about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool 20 to 30 minutes before removing from pans. Move to a rack to cool completely before slicing.

Mmmmm, sounds delicious! But I have a question. Have you ever made it without the walnuts? I have a son with an unbelievably serious peanut allergy. MOST packages of nuts that I find will say on them, "may contain peanuts". That's too much for Keith. So I want to try this without the nuts. Just curious if you've done that already.

I use pecans and I would think it'd be fine without any nuts!

I believe I'm going to make this for Easter. And also the Orange Cake from the food threads.
We have a family potluck on Easter for lunch and these will be so "Easterish" looking with the pink and orange colors
Thanks!

Tonight?
I'm sitting here waiting on an email reply from my supplier in China - looking online for a lawn care service...listening to my dh snore in the bedroom. I'm also listening to snippets of sound from my daughters room, she's watching Blues Clues...
Blessed quiet, mostly...the a/c drowns out the snoring. I think I'll go close the bedroom door just to be sure
it bothers me trying to sleep anyway LOL
