Re: IT'S SNOWING in MEMPHIS!!!!!

We're having another winter storm here tonight. Drove home from church (25 mi.) in fairly heavy snowfall.

Re: IT'S SNOWING in MEMPHIS!!!!!

What we have here may not be much for some of y'all, but it's pretty neat to me! About 4-5" so far. 4 hours ago, the news said it would be tapering off in 2-3 hours, but may have some bursts until midnight or later.

No tapering yet, and a steady fall ever since!

Re: IT'S SNOWING in MEMPHIS!!!!!

I lived in Kentucky one year (Barboursville) and worked at a children's home. We got 3" of snow at the beginning of January. They closed school and didn't open back up until FEBRUARY even tho we didn't get another drop. They said it was because of not being able to take the busses back in the "hollers".

Is that typical in the south? I'm curious.

Totally - I'd say schools will be out here for a while because the bus drivers won't drive.
