Hundreds of leading scientists warned Thursday that global warming is accelerating beyond the worst predictions and threatening to trigger "irreversible" climate shifts on the planet.....

did anyone read this in your news?

They're democrats - they must be lying.

US still skeptical about global warming: survey

Fri Mar 13, 6:00 am
WASHINGTON (AFP) – More Americans than at any time in the past decade believe that the seriousness of global warming is being exaggerated, a Gallup poll showed Thursday.

Forty-one percent of Americans told Gallup pollsters that they are doubtful that global warming is as serious as the mainstream media are reporting, putting public skepticism about the hot-button issue at the highest level recorded by Gallup in more than a decade.

Re: climate shifts

I was just watching "Naked Science" on NATGEO (The National Geographic channel) the other night and the statement was made "We're already well into our next major ice age!" based on a specific orbital cycle the Earth enters into every few hundred thousand years.

Re: climate shifts

PS, the Earths temp. has not risen since 1998.

while computer models predict further warming, actual recorded temperatures show a leveling off.

Both the warming and the leveling off corisponds to sun spot activity. Evidence suggests we will see a cooling over the next decade.

There are also trends which are MUCH longer then those represented by sun spots. You can have a decade long warming trend buried within a century of overall "cooling" -which in turn could be part of a millennium of warming. Like was mentioned on the science program, the greater trend is one of cooling which will take near a 100 thousand years to cycle through.

Re: climate shifts

Have you seen the news reports that Bonny Prince Charles predicts that within just a few years we are going to be impacted by a major catostrophic event that will change the physical world we are living on!

If he said it then it must be true, right?

I will see if I can find the link!
