So much for reasonable conversation. It appearsthat logic seems to be escaping you although you seemed to agree with my premise. But that was before someone else came along to support your fallacious statistic and make it an "us against them" argument, which was nowhere near the premise of my response.

I apologize if you feel that quote was directed at you. I didn't have you in the cross hairs when I made this comment. I promise.... I did leave the door open that we both could be correct.

Okay. Sorry. Reckon I misunderstood.
As for the cigarrette analogy though, it goes right back to the same argument. All you can offer are assumptions. For all you really know, unless you actually see the people who laid them down is that at least one person laid down three packs at different times; etc. etc.

Evidently the old saying is correct "ignorance is bliss."

Sorry about missing a word in the post. It should have read nothing positive happened when S of S invoked the name of Jesus.
My btw: Jesus said to leave them alone. Jesus said if they are not against Me they are FOR Me. If they are FOR Christ and you fight against them. You are fighting against God's edict.
Jesus is using these people because the so-called chosen people aren't getting the job done.

BTW: just because the devils seem to be afraid of these false prophets is no reason to believe that they are true.
Compromising will always bring about the fall of what may have been a good man at one time.

Is that what was happening in the scripture text referenced?
Would the "so-called chosen people" that aren't getting the job done also include yourself?

I have been privileged to be part of the discipling of these people who were delivered. I know these cases personally.

Then that changes the whole scenario to a factual case. Which in turn solidifies the facts and proves the statistics.

To answer your second question first, I'm working on changing that. I have 30 years of gross misapplications of scriptures to sort out. I have been weeding out the unbiblical garbage a little at a time over the past six years. But the more unbiblical junk I let go, the more God proves he doesn't need it.
Quote:
Luke 9:49-50
49 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.
50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.
