Three or four years ago, our local cable provider carried, on a remote channel, the Jimmy Swaggart Show, or whatever it's called these days. I also have a close friend who was the audio guru for the telecasts during the Swaggart glory days, and he also recorded with him.
The whole thing there is sad these days. There are 150 people crammed in the front 2 or 3 rows of a 7,000 seat building, and the Swaggarts are taking constant swings at everyone in Christianity, pretty much. It seems like everything they do is because of what people think of them.....which isn't much.
Incredibly, they still bring in 50 million+ annually in donations, with most of it coming from foreign countries (that this in a Christian magazine...can't remember which one)

I had heard that they curtain off most of the building but i didnt know they were down to 150 with that immense building they have. On their TV show i noticed they take very tight and controlled camera shots. I couldnt think of anything more depressing than having a empty building like that. I saw it at Carpenters Home Church which seats 6-7000 folks in Lakeland, FL and they only have maybe 1000 folks in there... that was the saddest service i've ever been to.
