Great point.

JE was (over) correcting the ship --- stirring up Christians, similar to what Paul probably did to the Corinthians.

How easy is it for your son or daughter, (if you have one) to be cast out of your family? I think it's harder to lose your salvation than some preachers and organizations believe it to be.

Cindy, you posted "sin separates us from God" and I believe that. But how many sins, which sins, and how quick does He separate us or cut us off? When does our Advocate stop working for us?

I'm glad I'm not God!

I believe it would be unrepented sin.

And it doesn't mean you can do something knowing that you can make it okay by repenting later.

I'm amazed (at even myself) how we always have to make sure everyone knows you aren't saying they should sin!

But that's how strong our Grace message should be. Instead of the qualification, we ought to rest on that for awhile. Grace received authentically doesn't even really need such an obvious disclaimer. I don't want to waste such a precious gift.

RG -- unrepented, as in you didn't put it on your prayer list that night? Or as in a whole life staying on course, heart turned toward God?

As in - whole life staying on course, heart-turned toward God repentent.

Not, God, "if" I sinned today, please forgive me.

I believe it is possible to die even with "unrepented" sin, and still be saved.

It is much easier to be saved than we were taught, and much harder to lose it.

I totally agree with you MrMasterMind! I guess that's why you're called MrMasterMind! And with the "if" I sinned prayer, I think that is still a good prayer for you could have sinned today with a "sin of omission" and really not be aware of it. Or maybe, if you don't know about it it's not sin! j/k

Perhaps.

However, I know it's a sin to commit adultery - if I engaged in adultery and didn't repent of it and change my life, I feel I would not be saved.

I don't feel that God has commandments to follow and would allow those to be committed and then still go to heaven.

The grace would be shown to me when I repented of committing adultery after knowing better.
