I was just a young child, maybe 6 or 7 years old...barely remembering Vatican I, when the church ceremonies were changed to Vatican II.

I remember my father appeared to be angry about it and would not attend church except on special occasions. It did not stop him from making us go to church and learning RCC catechism. I don't remember kindness being shown from the parish our family supposedly belonged to.

I remember about the same amount of kindness from my RC instructors as I did my UPC ones.

I had just the opposite experience. When I ran from the Apostolic church years ago I ran to the RCC, I remember my RCIA as being one of the best most loving experiences in my faith walk, I have returned to my roots and came back to the truth but still hold a lot of what I learned and experienced through those years very dear!

This is true in a great many churches, holiness or otherwise.

There is perhaps a rare church out there somewhere that does show some kindness...just not in my region.

I loved, loved, loved my 1st grade teacher, Sister Rosangela. I was scared of the priest though. I thought he was mean!
