Right... we were told the country was going to fall apart, we needed to get out, quickly.
As we can all see... Canada is alive and well. That was a crock excuse to gather all of us out of one place, get us to move to another country, and continue to support him in his new endeavor.
In fact, this was a statement we heard from the pulpit, and I have hesitated to say this publicly, but since we are airing it all... we were literally told this:
"Go to hell or go to Texas"... and in a sense, we did both... Texas is hot as hell

I know enough about the situation to know my family member is not rebellious. She is as sweet as she can be. I don't believe she has a rebellious bone in her body. She is torn right now, and you have to know what I am talking about, if you went through a similar situation.
If you acknowledge you know this pastor, then you have to be aware of the control issue that is really the problem here.

Re: What kind of pastor is this?
The control issue is a part of the mental makeup of many of us that have been within those fellowship circles.I am about the same age as LF..now married,LS,I guess now married, and I had supposed that Johnny was probably pastor now..I have lost track...The only good answer in these situations,is prayer and fasting..then fasting and prayer,in the lives of all of those involved. My own pastor became angry when i would not agree that folks that left the church where he was pastor were destined to be lost...The sad part is that sometimes this actually comes to pass, because in those fellowship groups, good families were not welcome in other congregations..

You and I are the same age then. From what I understand, Joel F has left to pastor in another state, but EF is still the pastor, although Johnny is the right hand man.
I can assure you that I have prayed and fasted and done all that I can, and many others too. Like I said, I love those people there, they are like my family, as close as I was to them, but I have been delivered from the mind control that went on there, and have gone on to live for the Lord, although you are right... many who leave, feel they cannot be saved anywhere else, and give up on the Lord altogether. It is a sad situation.
Do you have any connections with this pastor, or know anyone who could counsel with him, and offer him help in this area? It is my prayer that he could receive help.

My grandmother had a wonderful, wonderful life on PEI.
What is that they say about prophets needing a 100% track record? Um, he kind of missed it, didn't he?

Re: What kind of pastor is this?
I have family members still on the island, who've never suffered the financial stressors that our family suffered after moving to Texas. Definitely, a prophetic vision that did not come true.
No doubt in many ways, we would have been far better to have stayed there, if you look at the fall out that has taken place in the pastor's own family, and in every other family who left the island with him.

Re: What kind of pastor is this?
In my opinion..and experience,actually,..there is very little that you can do to change this situation.I probably have met you,but I do not KNOW you, likewise with this pastor,we know each other, but do not truly know each other. He would not listen to me, and I could not really comment any way...not being familiar with the situation...These things that happen to us as we walk with the Lord, sometimes serve to be educational, though downright painful! I often tell my wife, that if we have not learned anything else in our personal difficulties..we have learned how NOT to treat people.

Re: What kind of pastor is this?
Can a pastor who preaches "the truth" ( Act 2:38 message and Oneness) be a false prophet?

Re: What kind of pastor is this?
I will tell you one thing..There are some laws in Canada concerning "hate speech" that will bring persecution to Apostolics in a very real way, some day..if they are not already! We are not far behind them.. ILG..not every statement made behind a pulpit is meant to be prophetic...We all speak our opinions sometimes..

My question is why would they stay and support a known racist?

When you've been told/programmed that you're going to hell for a good part of your life, you don't just develop courage to leave like that.
Even if the pastor does something outrageous, you will be very afraid to leave since leaving will send your soul to damation.
