Very, very true Aquila! Law keeping was what the Pharisees did best, but heart keeping was where they failed.

Sad but true. And honestly.... I've met so many "Pharisees" in my lifetime.

I pray every day that the Lord would help me keep my heart clean before Him. I love the scripture in Psalms 139:23-24 "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

I don't ever want to think that I've arrived to the place where the spotlight of the word of God and the Spirit can't show me the need to correct my ways, change my course, and sift out the leaven in my heart, in order to be led in the way of everlasting life.

Had they been able to KEEP the Law, they would not have been reprimanded.
No...they were good at ENACTING laws and misinterpreting them!

Right. The law though was never meant to be their salvation, which was the point that they missed.
