One of the false doctrines that is propagated, even today, is the false doctrine of the Hamatic Curse.
There are those who teach that Hamatic people, people with darker skin, ie the african tribes usually being the target here, are somehow cursed with the idea of being slaves the rest of their lives.
The error in this doctrine is that the curse that stemmed from Ham's transgression was ONLY passed on to Canaan and his descendants.
When we look at Canaan, his descendants were the people of the Land of Canaan that the Israelites went in and took their land over. They were NOT the black skinned people of Africa or the Indians, the Chinese or the American Indians.
They were the people who the Israelites fought with when they went into the land, the people that God said:
Lev 18:24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
Lev 18:25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
Lev 18:26 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
Lev 18:27 (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled
Lev 18:28 That the land spew not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spewed out the nations that were before you.
We see in Lev that this chapter is dealing with sexual abominations, incest, beastiality, etc, and for those reasons they would be destroyed.
These were the Canaanites who were cursed by Noah.
