Has anyone heard/read that the mark mentioned there was the Hebrew letter tav or tau and was represented by a T or cross? I don't know Hebrew so I don't know if that is true or not.

I have heard that this letter was originally in the form of a t or cross but has since evolved into a different form. It supposedly was used to mark the doorposts during the passover. The death angel saw the mark of the bloody cross and spared the firstborn.
