I have a lot of anxiety about flying. I know that I have a much higher chance of being killed in a car wreck but driving doesn't bother me. Flying does, and if there is an accident, well, let's just say that not all car wrecks are fatalities.

Love you all, and I'll keep in touch.

Also, I have a couple job interviews. Remember those.

H0, I'll be praying for you & your Mom & your job situation. I'm sure you've already landed safe & sound by now. love, Glenda

Re: Keep me in your prayers-emergency trip

Well, my time here is almost over and I'm just now getting on to update you all.

Let's see.....where to start.......

My flight out of GB was delayed due to bad weather in Chicago, so I left 2 hours later. As a result, my connecting flight left without me. I then had to schedule another flight which was leaving 5 hours after my first one. So I had to wait.

I'm sitting in the gate area when I notice that 30 minutes before I'm due to leave, the screen says the next flight is leaving to Cleveland at 8:09. It's 5:30. I'm supposed to be leaving for Richmond at 6:11.

Gate change. Oh, and it's delayed until 8:34pm. Wonderful. I can't pick my mom up from the hospital now, so lots of phone calls were being made. The longer I waited, the more delayed my plane was. Long story short, I finally boarded just before midnight.....a flight that was due to land me in Richmond at 4pm would arrive there 11 hours later. Terrific.

Oh, and let's not mention that I wasn't able to pick up my rental car because the office was closed. So a friend picked me up and I crashed at her house for a few hours.

I picked up my car around noon and went to my mom's, who lives an hour from Richmond. She'd been discharged the night before, but wasn't able to walk very well. Another long story short, about 10pm, I took her back to the hospital, as she'd fallen during the previous admission and I was sure she had an injury.

Turns out, she tore the cartilage in her right knee. They admitted her and will be taking her to a rehab hospital until she is independently walking, as I'm unable to be here and care for her.

Today, I had two job interviews at the same hospital. Both offered me a position, which I will be considering in the next couple weeks. The pay is good, benefits are excellent, and I really liked the hospital, and there is room for advancement.

I'm finishing up things for my mom tomorrow and will be leaving first thing Wednesday morning. I'm scheduled to work that evening and I hope I don't have to call in, but if my flight is delayed by even two minutes, I'm calling!

Thanks for the prayers, everyone. I felt them all.
