"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Yes. St. Florian, the patron Saint for the keeper of the chimneys was present!

Re: Is Your "Main" Sunday Service AM or PM?

We have at 9:30 Adult Bible Class in the fellowship hall and in the educational wing their is a service we call The Journey, it is attened by the 20 somethings. It's cafe style with two young guys leading worship with guitars.

At 10:30 we have our morning worship in the auditorium.

I like it that way.

I did the two service thing on Sundays for years and I must confess I enjoy the occasional sunday evening off.

We have most of staff fmeetings on Sunday afternoons and i am involved in almost everyone of them.

Today was a 3 1/12 hour core meeting from 2 to 5:30

So much for us charismatics never going to church.

I also lead a home friendship group on Wed evenings

Re: Is Your "Main" Sunday Service AM or PM?

At this time, we only have a Sunday Morning Service which begins at 10:30. We do have Sunday School from 9:45 until 10:30. We usually get out between 12:00 and 12:30, just depending on how long winded I am and how the Holy Ghost moves in the midst of His people. Sunday Morning is by far, my favorite time of the week!

I've thought about beginning a Sunday Night Service, but I'm not ready for that as of yet.

Does the choir sing at both or just one?

Well...for the last year and a half, we have not had a choir. Actually going to re-vamp it and start again August 27th. They will be singing at our morning service. We will be having specials for our evening service.

Re: Is Your "Main" Sunday Service AM or PM?

We have two services on Sunday. We have the traditional service with Sunday School and classes. Most of our visitors come on Sunday AM. We also have a PM service where our choir sings.
