Re: Gay apostolics?

I'm not condoning any form of sin...

But I believe that the answer to the following question will resolve 90% of the questions and issues developing on this thread...

Anyone posting on this thread sinless? (Meaning you aren't sinning in ANY fashion and the very inclination of sinning is completely erradicated.)

Aquila,

With all due respect, that is not the issue. WE have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. I do think we can live a sinless life. That is why we have God's spirit. Many times we have to repent for a word misspoken, an action unbecoming...but for the most part we do not have to live in sin. God came to break those chains in our lives, and remove the weights...

In Jesus name,
Rhoni

Re: Gay apostolics?

My husband just preached on Homosexuality Sunday as the last part of his "Slow Fade" series. It's something that the church is going to be faced with more and more in the coming years. I believe that homosexuality is a sin (there's no way around that in the Bible), but I believe adultery and fornication are just as bad. There are people who will be saved who struggle with heterosexual lust, i.e. pornography, all the days of their lives, but they have made choices to put the flesh down and live above sin. Homosexuals have to do the same. They may never completely be set free from homosexual desires, but they have to choose to live above sin - be celebate!

I have been to some of these church websites, and it's very disturbing that they have made God's Word void by accepting as holy what He has called sin. They can twist scriptures and justify their sin in their minds. I have a friend who is a Music Minister at one of these churches (female) and is "married" to the associate pastor (also female). They believe in speaking in tongues, healing, and all the gifts of the Spirit. They preach and teach Jesus' name baptism. However, that doesn't do away with the fact that they are living sinful lifestyles and calling it righteous. But I will continue to love my friend and pray that she sees her error.

Re: Gay apostolics?

I never confessed to any sin. I just said that I was struggling.

Re: Gay apostolics?

If someone receives the revelation of who Jesus is, is water baptized in the name of Jesus, and is filled with the Holy Ghost...THEY ARE APOSTOLIC. Now, they may struggle with sin, they might even be backslidden and in sin...but they are still Apostolic. You don't cease being Apostolic while struggling with sin or even after you do sin. Even if you completely backslide, you're still Apostolic...albeit a BACKSLIDDEN APOSTOLIC.

So yes, I contend that there are Gay Apostolics. If God loved them enough to forgive their sin and give them the Holy Ghost, I'm man enough to acknowledge them as part of the body. And if they fall, they are fallen brothers and/or sisters.

I don't know why we're going around in circles trying to qualify who's "worthy" of wearing the label "Apostolic" like it's some kind of honorary title earned by our own merits or something.

Now, I don't condone sin. But I will be friends with, pray with, and encourage gay Christians and even *gasp* gay people. But when the rubber meets the road I let them know, I believe it's a sin. They need to take it to God and pray for strength to overcome just like I do my sins.

I just felt like I had to speak up here.

God bless.

I just want to know how god can fill a gay person with the holyghost. I know he is no respector of persons but most on this site would never in a million years think a gay person is filled with the holyghost....

ok...i'm back.

Paul's gospel...or the gospel that Paul preached is found in 1 Cor.15:1-8...i think...can't look it up right now but I believe those are the correct verses. the general points are that Christ died for our sin, was buried, raised on the 3rd day, and then was seen by hundreds people before returning to heaven. nothing about hair, pants, jewlery, works of the flesh or fruit of the spirit. To Paul...the good news...was just that.

When he talks about people being moved from this gospel...it is because at that time many people were teaching strange things about Jesus...like he was still dead, or still alive on earth...etc.

again....I am NOT saying that I believe homosexuality is ok, alright, or God-endorsed.

I simply stated my experience....I've been there...seen it with my own eyes...heard it with my own ears...and I cannot deny what I witnessed.

In my life I have experienced moments like this often....moments when God would do something that I thought was wrong or that did not match my theology....so I will give Him the benefit of the doubt. He can give His Spirit to whomever He wants...and I will simply rejoice with them.

Rhoni, God bless ya. lol

I care to differ. If you speak a word mispoken, that's a sin sis. And if you perform an "action unbecoming", that's a sin sis. I know we hate to hear that but it's true.

We sin. We're not sinless. We might carry the victory for a period of time...but we're not "sinless" because "sinfulness" isn't entirely based on action, it's based on nature. Sinful actions are SYMPTOMS of a sinful NATURE. Even if you go 10 years without sinning...that just means you aren't exhibitting symptoms...you're still infected though sis.

None of us are without sin...even if we've not performed what we might deem is a "sinful act" recently...because that sin nature is still with us and will be until we're glorified.

Nobody here is sinless and I refuse to allow the devil to fill me with that much religious pride. I might have the victory today, but I'm not going to look down my nose at someone who's struggling, or even APPEARS to have given up the fight against their sin. I welcome them and pray for and with them. Hopefully they'll get the victory and be able to pray for me when I stumble into sin tomorrow.
