I love the worship in all forms, but it is the anointed word of God being preached that I love.. It always has been.

I love it when the preaching comes forth and you feel that connection in your spirit.. It is good for the edification, and correction of my soul.

I love to hear the preaching that changes my heart, mind and soul. That makes me weep before the Lord in repentance, and humbleness.

I love the preaching that reminds me of the precious promises of God.

Now..... that is Pentecostal!!!!

My youngest daughter is 11. Sometimes she will go and visit another church with a friend. I love it when she comes home excited and she will say..Mom, listen to me, I have to tell you something. Then she tells me what he preached on, and what it meant to her.

The Lord is good.

If "he" was saying that our churches are dead because of the three things you mentioned, I'd agree. But, "he" said they are dead because people don't allow the music to drive their praise.

The problem is while most of us sit around and sing kombuyah and tell each other how great we are...he at least IS willing to point out things that could use some change in the ORG that he was a great part of and quite faithful to. IMHO
So, when "he" points out problems, you listen? But, when others who still attend UPCs point out problems, we get castigated? Yeah, makes sense......

A few of you have blown this so far out of proportion is hurts. I love to huck-a-buck with the best of them, but I don't want my praise to rely on the beat of the music. Someone posted something about how the fervor pitched when the music got louder. I read a post, not sure if it was on here, where a sound guy was telling another guy to watch how he could "control" the "worship". He'd turn it up, the "worship" would get more boisterous. He'd turn it down, it would lessen. Pretty scary, huh?

Are you willing to admit there is a problem with this, and also that the folks in the video -- the source of all of this -- are mostly being driven by the musicians? I am. That doesn't mean we should scrap all music or that my church sits around singing Kumbaya all day long. [We've actually got very good music at our church] It just means we must be cautious about why and who we are praising.

I understand that Parley's doctrine are incorrect. I understand that Jakes is off as well.

I also understand that worship is not hype, nor should it be.

But, I just can't find it in myself to condemn what I saw in the clip for a number or reasons:

1) The Holy Ghost move is not confined to truth.

2) Anywhere there is real faith, God can, and WILL, move.

3) I believe music is a HUGE part of worship, as is established in the OT, and is evident in our churches...from lib to con.

4) I believe that people are commanded to worship, and it doesn't matter how they feel--we should do so, and that musical instruments and singers were given as gifts of God to help us to both worship, and be inclined to do so.

5) I think a preacher screaming at the top of is lungs, simply guttural sounds of "noise" to the Lord is not unnaceptable.

Oh how I wish those two would embrace more than they do presently.

Bro. Prince, the Lord Jesus will not allow His name to be shamed among the heathens. Because of this, and the power of His name, His Spirit flows in these services. However, this does not negate the fact that these people are as lost as travelers in Houston without a map. Parsley, Schambach, and Roberts do preach the name, but so did the seven sons of Sceva. The day is coming when they will face the choice, the same one that Jimmy Swaggert faced shortly before his fall, to either receive the truth of reject it.

For someone who claims to be an expert on the Word, you should know every person has a one in four chance of making it.

Matt 13:18-23

18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
KJV

If my math skills are correct, that means POA successfully disciples 200 successful christians each year. When's the last time you baptized 200 people in a year let alone 800?

I am sorry to say you are baptizing 800 folks a year what percentage are you keeping?

Only if you assume the number of those of each type of ground is equal in number, which scripture never declares.

People forget the spiritual principle that Jesus established to deal with people who are not in the cliq.

Quote:
Luke 9:49-50

49 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.
50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.
KJV

Luke 9:49-50

49 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.
50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

Much to the chagrin of the ulta conservative cliq, God thinks TD Jakes and Rod Parsley are on same side as Steve Epley.

If you can't handle that one, take it up the Master. He said it.

Come on now. If you are going to use the fact that folks can cast out devils and do miracles as a sign that God accepts them, then please explain this passage:

Matthew 7:21-23 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me , ye that work iniquity."
