Tennessee is awesome. Once you have been to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the Smokies you get spoiled as far as vacations go. We went backpacking last year in Frozen Head Natural Area and it was excellent.
Also I have noted that the people I have talked to or asked questions seem to be a very helpful and friendly group.

Just don't ever kid around and say you work for the Federal government! If they think you are out to get their stills and meth labs they will turn on you in a minute.
