We all have a sin nature. That will present itself very differently from one person to another.

A person who struggles with homosexualiity cannot be seen as an active homosexual.

you can be a saved Apostolic living an over coming life, and battle with temptation related to homosexuality.... so long as you are battling....

(I use the word 'you' to mean anyone not to single out any person)

Saved folk struggle (all of us struggle with something)
Lost folk embrace sin and make it a part of their lifestyle.
Good post! I agree.

Amen!

And just in case someone reading or will read this has been struggling and has just given up...take a deep breath and get back up. God loves ya and so do we.

Rhoni, God bless ya. lol

I care to differ. If you speak a word mispoken, that's a sin sis. And if you perform an "action unbecoming", that's a sin sis. I know we hate to hear that but it's true.

We sin. We're not sinless. We might carry the victory for a period of time...but we're not "sinless" because "sinfulness" isn't entirely based on action, it's based on nature. Sinful actions are SYMPTOMS of a sinful NATURE. Even if you go 10 years without sinning...that just means you aren't exhibitting symptoms...you're still infected though sis.

None of us are without sin...even if we've not performed what we might deem is a "sinful act" recently...because that sin nature is still with us and will be until we're glorified.

Nobody here is sinless and I refuse to allow the devil to fill me with that much religious pride. I might have the victory today, but I'm not going to look down my nose at someone who's struggling, or even APPEARS to have given up the fight against their sin. I welcome them and pray for and with them. Hopefully they'll get the victory and be able to pray for me when I stumble into sin tomorrow.

Aquila,

I only disagree with you on the doctrine of eternal salvation. I do not think we have to live in sin. I do not think we should boast of living in sin just like we should not boast that we are sinless. We should only boast in the Lord and his grace, mercy, and power of reconciliation.

Again I remind you...God's grace does not give us license to sin...but when we sin we have an advocate with the Father through Jesus Christ. If we confess our sin, HE is faithful and just to forgive us our sin.

Blessings, Rhoni

Re: Gay apostolics?

If someone receives the revelation of who Jesus is, is water baptized in the name of Jesus, and is filled with the Holy Ghost...THEY ARE APOSTOLIC. Now, they may struggle with sin, they might even be backslidden and in sin...but they are still Apostolic. You don't cease being Apostolic while struggling with sin or even after you do sin. Even if you completely backslide, you're still Apostolic...albeit a BACKSLIDDEN APOSTOLIC.

So yes, I contend that there are Gay Apostolics. If God loved them enough to forgive their sin and give them the Holy Ghost, I'm man enough to acknowledge them as part of the body. And if they fall, they are fallen brothers and/or sisters.

I don't know why we're going around in circles trying to qualify who's "worthy" of wearing the label "Apostolic" like it's some kind of honorary title earned by our own merits or something.

Now, I don't condone sin. But I will be friends with, pray with, and encourage gay Christians and even *gasp* gay people. But when the rubber meets the road I let them know, I believe it's a sin. They need to take it to God and pray for strength to overcome just like I do my sins.

I just felt like I had to speak up here.

God bless.

I think most of us would approve of those sentiments.
God is patient and merciful, and we should be too.

I think the issue though, is that in the "Gay Pentecostal" movement, these folks embrace their sin, and teach that it's NOT sin.

THAT is a huge problem, and something we should never approve of, or compromise with.

Well if I never hear from you all again, it was great conversing with you. And I pray that the Lord bless you in all ways. Jeff.

Re: Gay apostolics?

I think I am definately more compassionate about the subject than I used to be. I do think that people struggle with the issue genetically. I think some people might choose to engage in homosexual practices only because they are sinful but I don't think all people necessarily choose their orientation. We all have issues that we struggle with. It is my opinion that people struggling with orientation should not engage in relations with the same sex.
