Re: Bill Clinton Loses Temper, Lashes Out at Pro-L
I too think Clinton's been acting strange. I wonder if he's on some kind of medication or has just gotten too old for the political trail.
As for abortion, it's here to stay folks. We've battled it for 30 years with only symbolic victories. I think it's time to turn from focusing on abortion's legality to focusing on how we can help more women choose life. We as a society of individuals, communities, and government have to turn our attention to the issues and problems women face when they have an unplanned pregnancy. Here's the motto, "Women And Children First". Whatever policies will be best for them will foster a culture in which more women choose life.

I find it sad that the liberals will walk over the dead bodies of babies while saving whales.

I agree. We should always speak out against abortion while supporting measures that help prevent unplanned pregnancies and that help or influence more women to choose life.
We've thrown millions and millions of dollars and spent countless man hours working on the political side of this and we’ve gotten virtually nowhere. Imagine if we would have put that money and all of these man hours into crisis pregnancy centers, and efforts to help more women with the real issues that they face (health care, day care, WIC, etc.)? Often women are very afraid and have nowhere to turn. Being Pro-Life has become a political label. I think the term “Pro-Life” should be more of an overall philosophy as to how we deal with unwanted and unplanned pregnancies. What most of us consider “Pro-Life” is in reality just “Anti-Abortion”. In Anti-Abortion philosophy the focus is primarily on abortion’s legality. Often people will fight tooth and nail to ban abortion. But they don’t want any social responsibility with helping pregnant women and their children who live in poverty. I believe that it helps us feel moral without real social commitment. This is why I believe more Christians should be unashamedly supportive of measures that help women with pregnancy prevention, health care, day care, WIC, and even limited public assistance when needed.
I don't believe a conservative court will overturn Roe. And I don't believe the "Pro-Life" politicians will offer us more than just election rhetoric. Maybe I'm just jaded but I think abortion is here to stay and we have to take a different approach that puts women first to make a real difference.
Just my opinion.

And both sides seem to ignore the children that are already born, to teenagers, and crack addicts, and prostitutes, and drug dealers. I think that if the pro-lifers spent more time focusing on the children that already born they could accomplish a lot more. JMO

Re: Bill Clinton Loses Temper, Lashes Out at Pro-L
Many countries have strict abortion laws but the abortion rate remains high, even in deeply religious countries. Some countries have very low abortion rates in spite of abortion being legal. That leaves me wondering; is abortion the problem or is abortion a symptom of an underlying social problem?
I think that’s an important question to ask. Because we can spend time and resources treating the symptom without addressing the underlying issues that contribute to its occurrence.

Yes, of course it is. An underlying amoral, social problem.

You bet it is a social problem.
Society needs God.
