As far as eating, no magic here. Just high lean protein, complex carbs and fiber, and cut out the simple sugars.
This is the key. A trainer I spoke to once told me that if a person is looking to drop an extra bit of weight then they need to switch the programs up. I do tons of cardio. I do the elliptical machine about 20 miles a week at least. I am still about 20 from where I want to be. Eating right will help me. But the trainer said instead of doing all the elliptical machine try doing half the elliptical workout for the week and the other time you would have devoted to the elliptical workout get on a treadmill and workout or take the workout out doors. That is easier said than done here in AZ. 113 yesterday when I was heading home from work at 3:30

Roux-en-y baby! Still the gold standard!
Since my GB surgery, I've lost 194 pounds, but I've lost 226 from my highest weight ever, which was 4 1/2 years ago.

I wish you'd share pics. Even if you have to email them to me!!!

LOL!

Maybe that's my problem....

Also, do you have problems with hypoglycemia if you don't eat?

If I eat carbs without much protein, my sugar drops an hour or so later. I have to eat protein with any carbs, and I can't have that much carbs at once either, especially complex carbs, like oatmeal, cereal, rice, potatoes....does weird things to me.

Re: What length would you go to lose weight?

I have been dieting and exercising. I have hit a plateau - I am eating 1200 - 1500 cals a day, and I was riding my stationary bike for 50 minutes a day. This week I have switched to doing an interval training tape- I call it the torture tape for 20 minutes and riding the stationary bike for 30 minutes. I have lost 8/10 of a lb this week. GRRRRRRR- I am determined to loose 15 lbs!

Congrats and good luck on the uphill climb. I agree with Dave maybe you need to fuel the fire with high protein foods and lean meats. Once again good luck!

I didn't read the whole thread so someone may have mentioned this already, but I would cut the cardio stuff by half or more -and substitute it with good old fashion weight training. Muscles burn calories, even when your sleeping. A nice buff bod will literally burn more calories during 8 hours of sleep then 30 minutes on a treadmill or bike.

Weight training is a major key. Good advice.
