My oldest Boy lives in California and was going to a church that dabbled in this stuff [the gold flex or dust showing up on people],I prayed God would open his eyes and the last time I saw him He said He stopped "chasing signs and wonders".I had told him that this stuff was dangerous and bordered on witchcraft,Signs and wonders should follow us.In the context of Glorifing God and not ourselves to try and prove our own holiness or supposed power. The Holy Ghost will magnify Himself not us,I am nothing He is everything.
The problem is not with signs and wonders....it is what too many "evangelists" do with the signs and wonders they proclaim to have witnessed. Too many times it seems that the most important use is to further their ministry or speaking engagements.
I believe that I have had an angelic encounter once in my life. (other than my wife!) I have shared that experience maybe a dozen times in the past 15yrs since it happened. It was powerful and profound. I can't prove they were angels, but they were certainly sent "ones" from God!
I have never bought into the "holy tooth fillings" gold flakes/dust, gems on the carpet, oil on the hands, angel feathers etc. If I see it, that is one thing, but there is so much wackiness going on in apostolica/pentecostalism that it makes it difficult for me to swallow this stuff. I've heard folks talk about it, but I've never seen it. Truth is, I really don't even care about that stuff. The greatest miracle, IMO, is when a sinner gives their life to Jesus Christ!! Everything else is just icing on the cake! I'll take it all, but the most important thing is salvation!!

Amen! No amount of gold dust or gold teeth can compare to seeing someone encounter God and be changed by that encounter.
That very small conservative voice in the back of my head just told me the following:
Because its the charismatic Lee Grady saying it, everyone here will agree... if some conservative OP had written that word for word, the knives would have come out.

You hit the nail on the head, sir! It's sad how many people overlook this greatest miracle in search of gold dust and angels...

Weeelllllll.... I think that voice is misleading you. Since this article has such extreme examples, I believe any author, including a staunch con would have found agreement here.
I don't agree with a lot of JLG - "The Other Pentecostals" article introduced me to him rather badly. There have been a few, but very few articles he's written that I agree with.
Again, this is just so extreme that it's easy to find agreement here. Kinda like President Obama saying "God Bless America." Easy to find agreement with him there ... hard elsewhere though.

I agree.
And the miracle of salvation, salvaging a lost sinner and making him/her a new creation, is happening all the time and often goes unnoticed except to a few people with whom he/she has been involved.
And, even more miraculous in my opinion, is a small child who submits to Jesus at an early age and then goes on to live a clean Christian life all their days. To me this is a greater miracle, although not near as dramatic, than someone who has plunged to the very depths of sin and then, in the later years is miraculously cleansed and changed.

I think if we all removed the titles from each other we would be better listeners- I love my new sig line and I think if anyone would adopt it, the cons and libs relationship would be greatly improved from both sides.
"I refuse to relate to people according to a title that God did not give them"
I agree.

It's not as appreciated or publicized like those coming off of heroin and crack- but this is the life I would want for my children to never have to know a life of sin but continue in what they been taught about God through their adult life.

I don't normally like Grady, most of his stuff I totally disagree with, but I thought this article illustrated what can happen if we chase signs.
We need to search after God and then the signs will come after us.
