Drudge only posts links to news sources that write the story ... obviously it's a popular story because of the links he has to several news sites.
Drudge isn't writing the story ... all his website does is list links to news written by others.

but he can be so selective in the links he provides. duh. i go there almost everyday because it is one source to the news we don't usually hear. this thing is just a minor distraction...not a real news story.

A lot of news sites or sites like drudge select links ... whether by hot topic of the day (which this was) or other means.
Being an avid visitor to the site then, I'm sure you would know that there are always a few links included on DR that aren't "real news" stories.
