Re: UPC Church host Jason Crabb

I can not believe that my being selective about what I read, who I listen to (preachers and singing) when it comes to the things of God is seen as not living in a real world. If I were on another forum with people who felt any kind of religion is ok then I would understand, bu this is supposed to be a "Apostolic" forum. Maybe I am overreacting or maybe I am at the wrong place.

I think you have your own personal definition of what Apostolic is, and not everyone is going to fall under your definition. There are many apostolics on this discussion forum and that is what we do discuss.

It is fine to be selective, but it is reasonable?

It is reasonable to expect anything sung, sang written and read going to be by some one who is baptized in Jesus name? I don't think so.

Is your God big enough to keep you? Isn't your God big enough to speak through or sing through anyone? Or use anyone that isn't baptized the way you think they should be.

I think baptism is great, we just baptized 12 last Sunday some I personally gave bible studies to.

But I just know my God is bigger than some of this stuff and speaks to and through people without my permission.

Too bad I'm not UPC. Once again the same ole thing. I made a statement about my opinion, did not put anyone down or accuse anyone of anything and this is the type of response that you get from "Apostolic" people. You guys can keep your "apostolic", which apostle are you of though?

Sorry, dude or dudette. You must know that many people have been on here spewing the same stuff you are and it gets more than a little old. They talk like God ONLY uses the UPCI, ALJC, or similar org. Thus they don't touch anything coming from another denomination or whatever. You are entitled to your opinion just as we are. So rest assure the one we follow is Christ, enough said.

I don't believe that anyone on here that has true beliefs in what they say are spewing out things on purpose. I don't think you are or anyone knowingly say "I am going to spew..." With that being sad I think that the term Apostolic has be perverted and twisted over the years. Also one concept of what Apostolic is often times is different from what their brother and sister actually believes. Some on TBN agree they are Apostolic and by many's definition they wouldn't be and by somes definition they would.

If you and your family serves the Lord like you believe you should, and my family and I do the same then nothing should deter us. Only times in my life I have changed a view on something--I used to be like you no music but OUR music, etc--is when I believe God is moving me into something different. God throughout all of history championed many causes and thus changed the standards of that day like He is today. I don't think that listening to music, sermons, and book from those outside our ranks is wrong. Often time thing that have had the greatest impact on my life is from people outside our ranks.
