I am not trying to stir the waters so much, but I can never understand how UPC can go along with Christmas being acceptable. When I attended UPC churches, I just didn't give to all of that "Christ for Christmas" giving or whatever it's called.

What does it matter what it's called for pete's sake?! It's the 'cause' that's important.

That's exactly right.

Regardless of what it might be called, someone, somewhere would find something pagan about it.

The pagan hunters can live in a condemning straight jacket of paranoia if they like but it is sad to see it, especially since Jesus came to set us free from all of that self-condemnation.

I have very little patience with the fringe nutters. I need to just ignore them since, thank heavens, they are very small in number.

I mean we have one person who is going to move from one state to another just to find a church that doesnt celebrate holidays and then this woman who boycotted Sheaves For Christ over her nonsense. Arghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Hey, do you go to a church that preaches and teaches those things you believe in? Don't I deserve the same? Or do you and others get to decide for me what kind of church I should go to?

The great thing about America is that you are free to drag your family across the entire country in search of a church that fits your bill.

I also have the right to think you are swallowing a gnat in the process.
